Short history

The branch mathematics library of CUL in Iasi was initially organized, in 1918, as a reading room, by professor Myller, after the model used at Gottingen by Lesezimmer. The access to the reading room which was allowed at any time of the day was done merely by receiving a key and the student could read any book in the room (“the student's guard of honor”).

The reading room has benefited from the presence of a librarian since 1954. The present structure of the library has been kept since 1963.

The reading room has 72 seats.
